National crime mapping study which is usually conducted every two years enables the Government to monitor the pattern and trends of crime in the country. The specific objectives for the study were to: establish the prevalence and types of crimes; identify crime hotspots; identify criminal gangs and their activities; establish the root causes of crime; identify victims and perpetrators of crimes; establish modus operandi of criminals; examine the consequences of crime; establish existing victim of crime support services and their effectiveness; identify crime prevention measures and their effectiveness and recommend crime reduction approaches. ANNUAL CRIME YEAR BOOK
